Membership is currently open to everyone:

·          Living or working in the Dudley borough

·          Employed or Unemployed

·          It was agreed at our 2012 AGM that the following groups and organizations would also qualify for Castle and Crystal membership:  

    An individual employed by the following employers or in receipt of services:

1.       West Midlands Ambulance Trust

2.       Chadd Housing Association

3.       Accord Housing

4.       Black Country Housing

5.       Bromford Housing Group

6.       Harden Housing Association

7.       Housing 21

8.       Jephson Housing Associaton

9.       Midland Heart

10.    Nehemiah

11.    Rooftop Housing Group

12.    Sanctuary Midlands

13.    Waterloo Housing Association

14.    Rentokil

Examples of qualifying members:

 1) A tenant of Midland Heart Housing Association who lives outside the Dudley borough is now eligible for Castle and Crystal membership

 2) An employee of West Midlands Ambulance Trust who works in Dudley but lives outside the Dudley borough is now eligible for Credit Union membership

How Can I Join ?

You will need to complete a membership application form and provide 2 forms of identification. (See list below)

There is a one-off joining fee of £1 if you are unemployed and £3 if employed. We also ask that you open your savings account with a minimum of £1.

Once you have completed and returned the form to our office, we will open your account and you will receive a welcome pack through the post confirming your membership number within a 7 days.

What Id Requirements do I need to join ? 

 

You will need two forms of Identification, one to prove who you are and the other to prove where you live.

 

Adult Accounts – Acceptable ID

(Name):  Valid UK Passport, Full UK Driving License, Benefit Letter or Tax Notification

(Address): Recent Utility Bill, Tenancy Agreement or Council Tax Bill

Junior Accounts – Acceptable ID

Birth Certificate, Medical Card or Valid Child Passport

 

Frequently Asked Questions

 

I’m not sure if my address comes under the Dudley Borough?

You can join Castle & Crystal if you pay your council tax to or have council tax benefit from Dudley Council. If you are unsure please check with Dudley Council.

You can also become a member if you work in the Dudley borough but live outside it.

 

What happens if I move out of the borough or change my workplace?

You can still retain membership if you move out of the Dudley area or relocate to another place of work.

Once a member.... A member for life!

 

How can I withdraw my Savings?

You can now access your savings without the need to visit our office by choosing the Credit Union Prepaid Card, Alternatively; you can withdraw via cheque, bank transfer or cash although cash withdrawals are restricted to £250 per customer per day.
